Kokoda ANZAC trek 2026: endurance, legacy and mateship

Location: Papua New Guinea

Cohort Size: 10 veterans

Program Objective:

Reawaken embodied resilience through shared hardship, strategic movement, and exposure to legacy-infused terrain. The track functions as a liminal space for transition, grief processing, and camaraderie restoration. Walking alongside civilians through shared challenge and quiet conversation, the experience fosters mutual understanding, emotional healing, and community reintegration.

Why It Matters:

This symbolic Kokoda ANZAC Day 2026 trek channels the physical and mental challenge many veterans still seek -this time, in service of healing rather than combat. The demanding terrain becomes a pathway to purpose, rekindling national pride, camaraderie, and the deep sense of mateship that defines the ANZAC spirit.

Who it is designed for:

All our veterans, their families, and the families of the fallen.

What they get out of it:

Embodied proof of resilience. Restored mateship through shared hardship. Space for processing grief and transition. Reconnection with ANZAC identity and national pride. Following in those footsteps reframes their service within something larger -their sacrifice matters, their legacy endures. They return physically exhausted but mentally restored, with renewed bonds that continue through the veteran-alumni community. Most importantly, they've proven to themselves they still have what it takes.
