Warrior Healing Documentary: bridging the gap to healing
Location: Australia, Mexico and Africa
Cohort Size: 3 warriors
Project Objective:
Warrior Healing documents the next chapter of a story Pillars for Pilgrims helped begin. In 2025, P4P funded Andrew "Horse" Hudson - 22-year Special Forces veteran, 7 deployments - to undergo Ibogaine treatment in Mexico when every conventional option had failed him. The results were life-changing.
Now Horse is leading a new cohort of burnt-out warriors - veterans, police, and firefighters - back to Mexico. The documentary follows them through a fully structured treatment pathway: preparation, medical Ibogaine provision, soft landing, integration coaching, and ongoing community support.
Produced by SciComms Films, directed by Simon J. Heath (Bravery and Betrayal: The True Story of the SAS in Afghanistan, Australia's most-watched theatre documentary, 2025).
Why it matters:
Since 1997, more than 1,600 Australian veterans have died by suicide - more than all recent combat deaths combined. Mainstream treatment is failing them. Ibogaine is not a fringe experiment. It is a rigorously supervised, evidence-informed pathway that is saving lives where nothing else could.
P4P already funds veterans to access this treatment overseas. This documentary takes that mission to a national audience - driving awareness, legitimacy, and the funding needed to reach more veterans.
"I haven't felt this good in 20 years. What Ibogaine achieved in a few days was vastly more than a decade of therapy. This saves lives."
Andrew "Horse" Hudson, P4P Ambassador & Documentary Subject.
